Ger O'Brien

I’m an Irish landscape photographer and I’ve been taking photographs since I purchased my first camera an Olympus OM1 ( Second Hand and still working ) way back in the 20th century (1982). I've only recently began sharing my work professionally after completing some night courses and the QQI level 5 and 6 photography courses at the College of FET Mulgrave Street, Limerick.

Photography has always been my way of slowing down and paying attention to the light, the weather and to the quiet moments that often go unnoticed. While landscapes are my main focus, my work has also led me into storytelling and documentary photography, earning me a nomination for News Photographer of the Year at the Smedia Awards 2024.

I’m continuing to grow, explore, and refine my voice as a photographer, and I’m excited to share that journey through the images you’ll find here.
